Operation Sunrise

The rolls were baked in twenty minutes! Several smaller solar cookers were used at that time to bake chicken, pizza, bread, peach cobbler, rice and beans during our Sunday, October 15, 2006 "Operation Sunrise" at REA headquarters in Bowie, Maryland.

REA, in partnership with Sun Ovens and others, is committed to bringing solar cooking to all homes in the US and globally with the use of the most advanced solar cooking technology. This is another plank in our effort to slow global warming, by promoting affordable technology with minimal negative impact on the natural environment.
